Under your instructions to me contained your letter of April 27,1945, and subsequent verbal orders you have issued to me,I submit a report on Japanese
Assets in Soviet-occupied Korea.
This is a factual report based on the first-hand observations made myself and the members of my Mission in the Soviet-occupied Korea in may and June,1946
It would not have been possible to carry through this assignment without the aid and assistance which was received from the Secretary of States ,and the Secretaries of the War and Navy Department,and especially from General Douglas MacArthur and Lieutenant General John.R.Hodge and their responsible
asscociates in Korea
